A Man Out of Time
30/11/13 16:11 It was a simple away mission, but wasn't that how it always starts? The planet wasn't even inhabited. It just had this giant, ancient stone arch in the middle of nothing. Scans of the planet had come back and categorized it as a Class M, which meant they could beam down and not need to worry about atmospheric, gravitational, or radiation issues. It would be just a nice walk around to get a few samples, map out the surface in greater detail, and poke around the arch a little bit.
Turned out, that last bit was a tad problematic. The second the Captain had touched the stone arch, the center of it had lit up with a strange, purpleish glow. That should have been a warning for him to stay the hell away, but Kirk was never good at listening to reason. Instead, he stepped forward to see if the glow cloud felt like anything.
And then he blinked.
When he opened his eyes again, the arch, the purple glow, the planet was gone, and instead he was standing in the middle of a grassy field. It was strangely quiet. There was no buzz of electricity, no hum from hover vehicles of any kind, not even that much noise from people simply talking.
Where the hell was he?
